How does the 7-day free trial work?+
Pick a plan, enter a card, get 7 days at $0. We do not charge until the trial ends. Cancel any time during the trial and you pay nothing.
How do team members work?+
Add seats to any plan for $5 per additional seat per month. The first seat (the account owner) is included in the base price.
What does Self-Hosted actually mean, and why is it free?+
You point Tropic at a machine you already own (your laptop, an Android device, an Agent37 box, anything that runs the Tropic runner). Tropic provides the governance, telemetry, channel pairing, shared memory, and skills library on top. No cloud bill from us, your hardware, your power, no charge.
Do I need my own model API key?+
Connect your own provider key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter, xAI, Groq, Mistral, Together, Moonshot, Z.ai) or sign in with ChatGPT (OAuth). A Tropic-hosted Gemma model is available on Enterprise plans.
Can I bring my own LLM key?+
Yes. Add provider keys in Settings. You can also connect ChatGPT via OAuth (no API key copying required).
What if my agent is idle?+
On Managed, idle instances are stopped automatically after 30 minutes to keep your bill predictable. A fresh start spins back up in seconds.
Do you store my agent’s data?+
Sessions and shared memory are stored in your Tropic workspace. Sessions reset after 30 days unless archived; archived sessions persist and feed into shared memory.
